Glowstick Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-13

Glowstick is built to be private by design. This policy explains what that means in plain terms.

The short version

What data Glowstick stores, and where

Everything you create in Glowstick — tasks, projects, habits, routines, notes, journal entries, your XP, level, streak, coins, and your reward-shop setup — is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you're signed into iCloud, that same data syncs through your private iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit) so it shows up on your other devices: iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. This is the same mechanism Apple's own apps (like Notes or Reminders) use to sync.

We do not run a server. We do not have a copy of your data. We cannot see it, and neither can anyone else — it's encrypted in transit and at rest the way Apple's iCloud already protects your data, and it's scoped to your own private iCloud database the same way Apple scopes any app's CloudKit data to its owner.

Calendar access

If you choose to link a calendar for time blocking, Glowstick asks for calendar access (through Apple's EventKit) so it can show your existing events next to your Focus blocks and create a “Focus” calendar it manages for you. This happens only if you grant permission, and the calendar data stays on your device under Apple's own calendar permission system — Glowstick doesn't copy it anywhere else.

No tracking, no analytics, no ads

Glowstick does not track you across apps or websites, does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not collect any data about your usage to send to us or anyone else. Apple's App Privacy “Nutrition Label” for Glowstick says “Data Not Collected” because that's accurate.

Purchases

Glowstick offers an optional Pro tier (monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase) handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. Payment information is handled by Apple, not by us — we never see your card details. Apple may process your purchase and billing information under its own privacy policy, available at apple.com/legal/privacy.

Children's privacy

Glowstick doesn't knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because it doesn't collect personal information from anyone at all — there's no account, no server and no data leaving your device except through your own iCloud sync.

Changes to this policy

If what Glowstick collects or how it works ever changes, this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date above will change. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
